ArcDia MRSA screening
ArcDia Ltd introduces a new ArcDia MRSA screen for rapid screening of methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus.
The concept is based on ArcDia TPX-technology and on-line monitoring of microbe-specific growth. With this technique MRSA can be detected within 6-8 hours, directly from clinical samples. The new technique does not require pure culturing – in contrast to other genotypic or phenotypic methods. This markedly shortens the turn-around-times of microbiological analyzes.
ArcDia MRSA Screen is an excellent technique for miniaturised rapid microbiological analysis where high sensitivity is required. It markedly simplifies the analytical procedures of in vitro diagnostics routines leading to a significant reduction in assay costs. In addition, rapid microbiological detection reduces experimental use of antibiotics, and shortens contact isolation times of the patients. Thus, the new technique is expected to substantially improve cost-efficiency of antimicrobial resistance management.
