mariPOC® COVID-19 rapid tests

Our coronavirus test is the most accurate antigen rapid test currently available. It is based on the recognition of the SARS-CoV-2 viral nucleoprotein, and the results are obtained within 20 minutes to 2 hours.

mariPOC COVID-19 test is performed in the bench-top automated mariPOC test system, enabling analysis at the point of sampling. Thanks to its unique features, mariPOC SARS-CoV-2 test provides the best accuracy in results, while offering a very handy and quick procedure, for both patients and users.

Detecting the presence of the SARS coronavirus 2 is very simple and quick with mariPOC. Simply visit the closest healthcare centre and obtain your result while waiting. The extensive syndromic panel test will also identify other diseases such as influenza without any additional effort and with minimal expense.

Easy work flow

Typically, the sampling is done by taking a flocked swab sample from the nasopharynx. Alternatively, a nasal swab sample can be used. Sample pretreatment is easy and done safely in a closed primary container. The hands-on-time prior to automated analysis is very short.

mariPOC Covid test work flow
  • 20 minutes: > 90% of positive samples are reported, allowing making quarantine and clinical decisions without delay.
  • 55 minutes to 2 hours: Low positive and negative results are reported

mariPOC tests are designed to target conservative regions of viruses and bacteria making them robust against seasonal and regional strain variations. The test for SARS-CoV-2 targets nucleoprotein (NP). mariPOC SARS-COV-2 test method detects all variants of concern currently recognised by the WHO. The test method has detected well the Delta variant (“Indian” variant, B.1.617) based on our research data from collaborating European University Hospital. Furthermore, the antibody reagents have been studied and proved to recognize Alpha variant (“UK variant”, B.1.1.7), Beta variant (“South Africa variant”), Gamma variant (“Brazil variant”), Delta variant (B.1.617) and Omicron variant (B.1.1.529).

Scientific data shows that the test detects SARS-CoV-2 also one day before the onset of symptoms and up to day 14 from the onset of symptoms, but only for as long as the individual is contagious.

mariPOC antigen tests are negative in the non-contagious phase whereas PCR tests can be long positive despite the person is no longer able to transmit the disease.

A comprehensive diagnostic solution for pandemic management

Watch the video below to see why mariPOC tests are particularly well suited for pandemic management.

mariPOC solutions are suitable, for example, for passenger testing, event testing and companies whose employees are unable to work remotely, such as on construction sites, factories and shipyards.
